Kids are a Big Deal

At Daylight Church, we recognize that kids are a big deal.

They’re not just tiny humans who eat/wear your food, build Lego communities in your kitchen, or draw stick figures on your walls. They're the reason you drive to the soccer field and birthday parties. You buy them medicine and Disney princess band-aids for their tummy aches and boo-boos. You would sit through an amazingly horrific school play for them. Your whole life revolves around these tiny humans because you're convinced that they'll grow up to be the greatest.

We believe that, too. Honestly.

That’s why we want to encourage you in your journey of raising spiritual champions. Whether you’re a mom or dad, grandma or grandpa, aunt or uncle, godparent, you are a spiritual leader. That means you have the greatest influence in your child’s life even more so than the leaders and volunteers at Daylight Kids.

This is just one reason why:
A child spends an average of 45 hours at church per year.
In that same year, they spend an average of 3,172 hours with you.

Clearly, you have SO much more time and opportunitites to be influential. Our hope is that the responsibility of the church and parents is not one-sided but shared. We want to help you put those good intentions into action. We want to help you connect with your child and teach them on a spiritual level. That can seem staggering, but it’s doable and very necessary in order for them to be raised up in the wisdom, love, and maturity of Jesus.

So what exactly are you signing up for?
Each week, you'll receive a short n' sweet guided lesson for you to do with your youngster(s). It'll be directly in your inbox and you can also follow the link to the post on the website.

There will be a Bible verse to help them memorize, questions to ask, a simple activity to do, and prayer time all of which is focused on last Sunday's topic. You can help them think more about the Sunday morning lesson and how they can use it in their lives (e.g. how they respond to mean kids at school, how they do their chores at home, the way they talk to their brothers and sisters, etc.). When you do this, it nurtures and supports the things that God is doing in your children.

You can pick and choose what to use, what not to use, and how you want to implement it during the week. If you already have a time like this with your kids, that’s great! You could use this as a supplement.  Whatever you think is best. You’re the spiritual leader!

We can help your kids and you can help your kids, but really we can’t do this without God’s power. He’s the one that makes the seed grow and He’s the one that gives us what we need to do the job. We need Him more than anything else.  So let’s team up—Daylight Kids, you, and God—and together we can see growth, life change, and miracles!
